Which electric bikes can be converted into solar bikes?

Compatibility

The CycloSun solar charger is compatible with hundreds of electric bikes of all generations.
No modifications are necessary for its installation and use if your bike meets the following 3 criteria:

#1. Connector type

Standard connector

The Cyclosun solar charger is equipped with standard DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm cylindrical connectors. This connector format is compatible with the batteries of many recent electric bikes.

With an adapter

There are many different connector formats for charging e-bike batteries: XT60, XT90, IEC, XLR-3, RCA, GX12, GX16, ST3, etc. Check the list of adapters currently available by clicking here.

Incompatible batteries

Some bikes equipped with proprietary battery connectors are not (yet) compatible.

#2. Charge while riding

If you can use your e-bike's display while the battery is charging from the mains, then you can charge the battery while riding with a solar charger. If the display turns off, you can only charge while stationary.

#3. Battery position and type

The CycloSun solar charger adapts to all voltages (24, 36 or 48 V) and all battery types (Li-Ion, LiFePo4, etc.). The battery can be located under the saddle, on the luggage rack or on the frame with a charging connector accessible while riding.

The CycloSun solar charger can be installed in 5 minutes on the back of the electric bike and is available in two versions:

Surface Daily Solar charger

The Daily version is installed on the luggage rack. The flat part of the rack must be at least 20 cm long and the width must not exceed 17 cm. This version allows you to hang bags under the solar panel.
